Branch Out of Your Comfort Zone Cards:

My number one step always is to turn your laminator on and warm it up while you are working on your project so that it’s ready when you are to foil!

Cut a sheet of Gina K Cardstock in half creating two 4.25 x 5.50-inch card bases.  Fold one in half and then use the other one to ink up a background for the card front.

The rectangle die used was approximately 4.00 x 5.25 inches.  Use the other half of the Gina K cardstock that was cut, use a blending tool and ink three different colors that you want to use on for the card.

Place die on cardstock and hold in place using Purple Tape, then run thru die cutting machine. By doing this, it will allow you to place your die around the most colors that you want!

Next, place the stencil over the die cut card front and use the Purple Tape to hold in place.

TIP: I also tape my blending mat down with the Purple Tape to keep it tight and the stencil from moving. You can see where I taped in the photo below.TooltipText

Using a spatula, apply the transfer gel over the stencil. Carefully remove the tape and lift stencil, washing it immediately.  Let dry completely before foiling.  You can tell it’s dry when the gel is clear.  Cut a piece of foil to fit and run thru laminator.  Remove foil

Adhere twine around card front with the Memory XL by using a small strip on the back for the ends of the twine.  Cut a doily down and adhere up in the top corner.

Stamp three butterflies in the colors you used for your background and trim them out.  Die cut a shape that will fit your sentiment.  Stamp sentiment and adhere some sequins using the iCraft Mixed Media Adhesive.

TIP: I put my Mixed Media Adhesive in a fine tipped bottle that I got at the craft store.  I have a “heavy” hand when doing this and this gives me control over not squirting out too much!  A little goes a long way.TooltipText

Adhere butterflies using the iCraft Mixed Media Adhesive.  Adhere the sentiment with 3D Foam Squares.

And my other card was started creating and got so involved in coloring that I totally forgot to take some step out pictures!

Here is a little about how I created it.  I die cut a circle out of watercolor paper that would fit the owl stamp.  Then I die cut a circle base for the card front that was bigger than the watercolor paper circle out of Gina K Cardstock.  Using the same die, I cut a circle of the Branching Out Clear Toner Sheet and then cut a card base out of Gina K cardstock.  Just set the die off the folded edge of the card base slightly and die cut.  Then you line up your circle for the front and it will cover the fold and look like it’s a complete circle card.

I used Deco Foil in Spring Green for the Branching Out Clear Toner Sheet and adhered it to the card front using the Memory Runner XL.  I colored the stamped image with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers.  Add a couple of sequin leaves and some wood dots and I was done!

I will have a list of the colors I used over on my personal blog HERE, if you are curious!  Thanks for stopping by today!  Be creative and be sure to share with us on social media.
