Congrats Card Project Instructions:

Why make a plain card when you can add a little shine and snazziness with some DecoFoil.  Here I didn’t want the foil to be the main star of my card, but to just add a little punch.

Start by heating your laminator for at least 20 minutes.  This makes sure the laminator is heated completely and ready for you to work with. I usually turn mine on when I start my project and know I am going to be working with foil.

Cut a card base the size of your choosing.  This card base is actually a 5×7 inch, so a little on the larger side. Decide on layers, embellishments and how you want your card laid out.  I knew I wanted to highlight the center of my card with the foil, but you could easily just add a plain strip or a punched border strip as an accent.

Use either a manual or electronic die cutting machine to cut your background layer out of the Deco Foil ™ PeelNStick Toner Sheets. I used a Silhouette Cameo to cut mine out. You can actually do this one of two ways.  I choose to cut my piece out and then foil, but you could easily foil and then cut out.  This just works better for my set up and what I was doing at the time.

Once background is cut, then place the background piece in the parchment paper that is used as a carrier for the toner sheet/foil sandwich to go thru the laminator.  Place the silver side of the foil on top of the black toner sheet.  The color of the foil will be UP and facing you. Then run the carrier/toner sheet/foil sandwich thru your laminator.  I gently hold the edges of the carrier until I am sure that it has started exiting the back of the laminator.

Remove the foil from the toner sheet.  If you have small areas that didn’t seem to cover, you can run this thru again, making sure that when you place your foil sheet on the black areas, that there is actually foil still left on the sheet!

After foiling, then cut a sheet of pattern paper that is the size of your background. Remove the adhesive covering on the back of the toner sheet and back your die cut with the pattern paper.  What a fun look!
