In our neck of the woods, fall has definitely started showing its colors with cooler nights and the trees leaves showing signs of changing.  Fall is one of my favorite times of the year and I had to make an easy little garland to decorate with.

Fabric Leaf Garland Instructions:

Print out the leaf pattern to the StitchnSew EZ Print Quilt Block Sheets.  Print as many leaves as wanted for the garland. For this garland strand, there are 5.

For each leaf, cut two pieces of fabric 8 1/2″ square and a piece of batting 8 1/2″ square.  Layer the leaf like a quilt with a piece of fabric, a piece of batting, then another piece of fabric.  Between each layer spray it with SpraynBond Basting Adhesive.  Last, spray the wrong side of the leaf pattern and adhere it to the fabric/batting squares.

Sew around the leaf with a sewing machine.  For ease of removing the sheet, set the sewing machine stitches to a shorter length.  For added detail, sew the veins of the leaf as well.

As seen in the photo, it does not need to be perfectly sewn on the line.  Remove the white extra of the leaf.  Using the scissors, cut about 1/4″ from the sewing line.  Add a jute string to the leaf with the sewing machine or hand stitch it to the back of the leaf.  Tie to the premade garland or a piece of jute.

Add it to your favorite sign or hang it from a shelf.  The possibilities are endless on what you can add these cute leaves too.
