Hi there!  I am so excited to bring you my very first therm-o-web Design Team post!  What a great company to get the honor of showing off their ever growing list of products.

For my very first project, I got to play with Authentique Papers and Therm-O-Web Adhesives.  Valentines Day is right around the corner and Authentique’s Valentine Collection called “Smitten” was a perfect match for this fun Valentine House/Box.

I love everything about this collection.  The Therm-o-web adhesives worked perfectly when assembling this 3D house which I cut with my Silhouette.  The actual house was an SVG file from SVGCuts.

The lid/roof of the house comes off which allows the perfect place to hide a Valentine gift.  I added a box of chocolates but there is so much room inside you could easily add a few gifts or a larger gift.

I used the therm-o-web SuperTape™, Sticky Dot Runner, 3D Foam Squares and the Vellum Adhesive by therm-0-web.  Let me show you how each of the products helped in the assembly of this project.

When assembling any kind of box or 3 dimensional project the SuperTape™ is my go to adhesive.  It’s super strong and gives me the confidence that my project is going to stay together.  I love that you can put all of the adhesive on your seems by simply placing it where you would like it.  It’s tacky on both sides, but has a red protective covering on the outside which you can leave in place until you are ready to adhere it to the next piece.  You can see below as I was preparing the Chimney portion of the house I was able to place all of the adhesive, then just before I folded it to form the chimney, I peeled off the red protective coating to reveal the adhesive.  I then folded it into place and rubbed along the seams.  This Chimney is definitely going to hold its shape with SuperTape™.

When adding the papers to the sides of the house, I used the therm-o-web Sticky Dot Runner.  This adhesive is so simple to use and works perfectly when just adding a layer of paper onto another flat layer of paper.

The house has heart shaped windows on each side that I wanted to cover with Vellum.  The problem with vellum is that the adhesive shows though most of the time.  Enter Therm-o-web Vellum Runner.  This tape runner has a special type of adhesive that magically disappears behind the vellum.  It worked perfect!  Look below.. you can’t even see the adhesive through the vellum.

Lastly, I used the foam squares to add some dimensions to all of the extra embellishments on the outside of the house.  Simply add a foam dot to the back of any element you would like to pop off the page, peel off the protective backing and place it on your project.

I had so much fun creating this project.  I Love Love LOVE the Smitten Collection by Authentique and I am certain my project will stay in tact thanks to all of my therm-o-web adhesives!

Totally adorable creation. I’m working on something much more sombre – a sympathy card.
