Deco Foil Felt Christmas Stockings

Hi friends! Alicia here from Sew What Alicia. I just love decorating for Christmas but I am easily bored. This year I decided to go with a fun rainbow theme and to jump on a fun project early. Luckily Deco Foil comes in all the colors so I could easily add foil to my rainbow Christmas. Here is a Deco Foil™ felt Christmas stocking tutorial.

Deco Foil Felt Christmas Stockings Instructions:

Download and print the PDF pattern and cut it out. Trace a stocking onto each of the colors of the rainbow of felt. Cut them out. Use your scissors to shave the area where you traced to get rid of the pen mark, or cut about 1/8″ on the outside of the trace line.

To use the Deco Foil Hot Melt adhesive trace the cuff of the stocking onto the paper of the hot melt. Then cut out the cuff. Use your laminator to attach the hot melt to the stocking.

Peel the paper off the top of the hot melt and cut a piece of foil big enough to cover the entire area of hot melt. Put the stocking with the foil between two pieces of card stock. Run it through the laminator two to four times being sure not to move the foil between passes.

Use foil every 2nd or 3rd stocking. For the stockings that you don’t foil simply use a coordinating color. Cut a cuff in each color and then shift them one step to the right so that they will coordinate. Use hot glue to attach the cuff and tab to each stocking.

Use hot glue to attach the stockings to a wire wreath form or even just to a piece of burlap and attach to a frame. Or go ahead and add a ribbon and hang the stockings on your tree. You could even put them on some yarn and create a bunting. The options are endless!
