Nicole is a designer and quilter living in Indianapolis, IN. While she has been sewing from a young age her introduction to quilting began just a few years ago. Instantly in love with quilting, it became her favorite creative outlet and marked the beginning for Modern Handcraft.
Founded in 2011, Modern Handcraft is a quilting and sewing blog where Nicole shares design inspiration and sewing tutorials. With all of her projects the focus is always about modern designs and expression through color.
You can also find some of Nicole’s work on the Janome blog where she is currently a Janome Maker. Nicole has been featured in many sewing and quilting publications including Love Sewing, Quilt Now, Modern Patchwork and Love Patchwork and Quilting.

Beverly grew up in a creative family of artists and seamstresses so it is no surprise that she loves to create. She began sewing and doing needlework as a teenager and made her own clothes and room décor even then. That love for sewing and crafting has grown to include jewelry making, furniture refinishing and anything else she can learn and her blog, Flamingo Toes, was born out of a love of sharing those projects. Her style could probably be described best as a mix between modern and vintage – she love taking old styles and making them new and fun again. She is married to her high school sweetheart and they are loving living near Nashville, TN with their two kids and an ever growing menagerie of animals.
