Easy Applique Towel w/ Heat N Bond Lite

Alicia here again from Sew What Alicia. The holidays seem to be sneaking up on me this year. This easy towel project is the perfect way to add a festive touch when you are short on time. These would make a great gift for a gift basket or just a decoration for your bathroom or kitchen. Here is an easy applique towel w/ HeatnBond Lite.

Easy Applique Halloween Towel w/ Heat N Bond Lite

Supplies:

HeatnBond Fusible Interfacing – Medium Weight

Black Fabric

Terry Cloth

Black Bat Halloween Towel Instructions:

Cut a piece of terry cloth fabric to your preferred size. Use an existing hand towel to act as a guide if you aren’t sure how big to cut the fabric.

Clip the edges under 1/4″. Sew the edges in place. I recommend using a multi-part zig-zag stitch. I also used a contrasting black thread to match my black bat. You could use a thread that matches your fabric so that it won’t show.

Trace your image onto the non-fusible side of your interfacing. You can print clip art from your computer. You could also use a cutting machine to cut an image after pressing the interfacing to your fabric.

Press the interfacing to the fabric. Then cut the image out using scissors (or a cutting machine.)

Pin the bat to the front of your towel. Then sew around the edges. Use a zig-zag stitch to keep the fabric from fraying. Or use a straight stitch if you like the raw edge appliqué look and want a small amount of fray to develop over time.

That is it! Now you have a cute little hand towel. Gift it or use it in the kiddos bathroom. The possibilities are endless. You can use any simple image to create a fun accent towel. You could also make these for any holiday or design decor that you can imagine.

Thanks for letting me share this fun project with you!
