Embroider A Deco Foil Valentine's Pillow

Supplies:

20″ square for front of pillow

2- 18 1/2″ x 22″ pieces for pillow back

Thread

Deco Foil™ Transfer Sheets – Iridescent, Pink Melon, Silver

Deco Foil™ Hot Melt Adhesive

18″ pillow form

Directions:

Using bright thread colors, embroider design “Love Faith Family” onto 20″ square, centering as best as you can. You can either embroider by hand or by machine ( I free motion quilted the design).

2. Using the Deco Foil™Hot Melt Adhesive sheets, cut out heart shapes as desired. *TIP: Fold adhesive sheets in half with scratchy side facing out so that the adhesive doesn’t stick together.

3. Lay out hearts around the embroidery design as desired.

4. Apply pressing paper (which is included in the adhesive sheets) on top of cut our hearts. Iron for 30 seconds to adhere adhesive to fabric. (make sure to follow instructions on package).

*TIP: You can use parchment paper if you run out of pressing sheets.

5. Following instructions on packaging to apply Deco Foils™ to hearts. Below is a step by step in photos. I also have a Youtube video HERE if you want to see a how-to video with extra tips.

remove paper backing

place DecoFoil right side up

iron for 30 seconds

allow to cool for a couple minutes and peel DecoFoil away

6. Repeat steps until all Deco Foil hearts are done.

7. Trim pillow top to 18 1/2″ X 18 1/2″ square.

Pillow Tutorial:

With wrong sides together fold each of the 18 1/2″ X 22″ rectangles in half crosswise to make 2- 11″ X 18 1/2″ pillow back pieces.
With the pillow front facing up, overlap the 2 pillow back pieces so they measure 18 1/2″ square with the folds in the center. Pin and stitch all the way around using a 1/4″ seam allowance.
