Fashion Friday – Easy Beach Cover Up Featuring Girl Charlee Knits
Easy Beach Cover Up Supplies:
18″x60″ of Main fabric
1 yard of Trim
erasable marking pen, Iron (Oliso Pro), sewing machine, sharp scissors, other general sewing supplies, Trim (optional)
Beach Cover Up Instructions:
- Fuse the Heat N Bond Soft Stretch Lite Roll down on the edge of all seams that need to be hemmed.
2. Peel off the paper backing.
3.Fold over and fuse using the width of the tape as your hem width.
4. With this trick, you are able to sew down your trim and hem at the same time. This is a quick and easy way to give your knits a nice beautiful finish without gunking up your sewing machine needles.
Here is a close up of what your trim looks like attached at the bottom.
After your trim has been attached cut out your neck hole at the top, I used a small plate as my template. You could add bias tape around the edge or make a facing, I decided that I was fine with it just the way it was with it being a quick and easy project.
Sew a 2″-3″ straight stitch 12″ from the center top. This is going to give us a place to put the arms and give us a little bit more coverage.
I hope you enjoyed this super easy, done in about 20 minutes quick kids beach cover up. This could easily be adjusted for adults by just doing a 36″ width and then the width of the fabric.
