This week, we are Guest Detectives at the CSI Challenge and wow, was it fun! Diving into the case file, I knew I had pool time photos and a Simple Stories collection that would perfectly match the color scheme.

Foiled See – Through Window For Scrapbook Layouts

Under the Evidence section of the case file, there are specific elements to include. The main element I based my layout on was a quadrant design. With 4 sections, I was easily able to include many other different elements including, stripes and woodgrain, fruit and clouds, as well as glasses and a black and white pattern.

• Simple Stories HELLO SUMMER 12 x 12 Collection Kit

For the Testimony section of the case, I focused on the Topic (which was to document something summer) and the Presentation (which was to use a circular journaling spot). To break out of the grid a bit and add a fun foiled element to my layout, I created two rectangular cut out pieces on my background cardstock.  I backed them with two pieces of Distressed Lines Clear Toner Sheets. One strip, I covered with Denim Foil and the other I covered with Jade foil. Placing them behind the open rectangles, creates a foiled window on my layout.

Check out this video to see how you can easily create a foiled window on a 12 x 12 scrapbook layout! And be sure to check out the CSI challenge for tons of inspiration! Thanks for stopping by!

Loved your layout and how you put two of those “barred” transparent sheets to use on the same area. I would love to see more of these videos as I haven’t had very good luck with the foil in the past. I did purchase a laminator and from your instructions bet I could get it to work now. Thanks you so much.
