Haunted Graveyard Halloween Plaque

With your Stencil Pal, apply Deco Foil Champagne Mist Metallix Gel to a piece of white or manila cardstock.  Allow to dry thoroughly and die cut two ghosts with the Frightful Things dies.

Cover a piece of white cardstock with Easy-Cut Adhesive, remove the backing paper and burnish on Opal Deco Foil Foil Transfer Sheet.  Die-cut another ghost with the Village Graveyard die.

Cover a piece of cardstock with Deco Foil Black Ice Metallix Gel, let dry thoroughly and die cut several bats with the Bat Crazy dies and the raven from the Regions Beyond die.

Cover another piece of cardstock with Pure Gold Metallix Gel and while the Gel is wet, stamp it lightly with a background stamp for texture (the Composition stamp was used here). Make sure to immediately clean your stamp to remove the Metallix Gel.  Let the stamped cardstock dry thoroughly and die cut a 2 3/4″ circle.

Pre-heat your foil laminator and cover a piece of Deco Foil Toner Sheet with Black Deco Foil Foil Transfer Sheet (it would have been much easier to adhere all these little pieces if I’d used the Deco Foil PeelnStick Toner Sheets so use that if you have it!).  Die-cut the fence from Village Graveyard, the spider from Frightful Things and the boo word from Vintage Spirits from the black foiled Toner Sheet.

Ink a piece of cardstock with Distress Oxide Sprays (Walnut Stain and Pumice Stone) and Distress Oxide Inks (Hickory Smoke, Weathered Wood and a touch of Black Soot).  Die-cut the tree from Ghost Town and the headstones from Village Graveyard.

Ink cardstock with Distress Oxide Ink (Picket Fence, Antique Linen and a touch of Frayed Burlap) and die cut the eyeballs, skull, and bones from Regions Beyond.  Die-cut the other elements for the eyeball from Classic Kraft Stock and assemble.  Draw some blood vessels onto the eyeballs with Fired Brick Distress Marker.  Gently round the eyeballs with the end of a paintbrush.

Die-cut two hands with the Lost Zombie die from green Classic Kraft Stock.  Dip them into a bit of Antique Linen Distress Oxide ink and add some touches of ‘blood’ to the fingertips with the Fired Brick Distress Marker.  Lightly ink the edges of all the die cuts with Ground Espresso Distress Ink.

Cut a piece of dark coloured scrapbook paper to about 6″ x 8″ for your background (this is from Recollections Moonlit Madness).  Cut a circle from scrap paper slightly smaller than the circle you die cut from the textured Metallix Gel.  Adhere the scrap paper circle to your background with Zots Removable adhesive dots and ink around the circular mask with Antique Linen and Scattered Straw Distress Oxide Ink.

Remove the circular mask to reveal your halo of moonlight :O)

Adhere the textured Metallix Gel ‘moon’ over top of the inked halo with iCraft Ultra Bond Adhesive.  Adhere the tree, gravestones, and fence along the bottom of the background, leaving space at the bottom for some of the other die cuts (see the picture of the finished piece).  Add the spider so it’s hanging from the tree and perch the raven on top of one of the gravestones.  Tatter the edges of the background if desired.

Adhere the foiled boo word on top of the moon and the three ghosts above the gravestones with iCraft Ultra Bond Adhesive.

Adhere the Metallix Gel bats with iCraft Ultra Bond Adhesive.  Before adding the dimensional die cuts, adhere a couple of layers behind your background with iCraft Easy-Tear Tape and your Memory XL Tape Runner (I added more Moonlit Manor scrapbook paper and a piece of black corrugated cardstock). If desired die cut a Small Easel and adhere it to the back of your plaque for displaying it.

Add 3D Zots Singles to the back of your rounded eyeball die cuts and adhere them to the plaque, one looking at the boo word and one looking up at the raven.

Adhere the Lost Zombie hands, the skull and the bones along the bottom edge with iCraft Ultra Bond Adhesive.  Add some more adhesive along the bottom edge underneath the die cuts and sprinkle on the ground walnut shells or sand, pressing the shells into the adhesive and sprinkling more on if the adhesive comes up through the shells.  Allow to dry and fill in any empty spots until you are happy with the coverage.  You could also tint some sanded texture paste and apply it along the bottom, just be careful to not get it too wet or your paper may warp.

And with that your Haunted Graveyard Halloween plaque is complete!  Here are a few closeups of the finished project.

Thanks as always for stopping by today and I hope that you’ve been inspired to get a start on your own Halloween crafting with Therm O Web’s Metallix Gel and Foil Transfer Sheets.

And be sure to visit the blog all this week to see the Halloween creations the Design Team has created to share with you, it is going to be spook-tacular!  Happy creating,
