dsc_0365Hello there!  Amanda from Jedi Craft Girl here bringing you a bright and cheery quilting project!  This little quilt is made up of hourglass blocks and flower applique blocks.  I’m using Heat n Bond® Ultra to adhere the flowers so I don’t have to sew around each one!  This quilt measures 28″ square and is perfect to hang on a wall or place on a table.  Let’s get started!

Project Supplies:

Heat n Bond® Ultra No-Sew Fusible Adhesive

At least 10 fat quarters.  I used Manderley by Moda

3/4 yard solid white fabric

1/3 yard binding

1 yard backing

Sizzix flower die

Sizzix triangle die

Project Instructions:

screen-shot-2016-11-03-at-12-41-51-pmFirst let’s make the hourglass blocks.  I used the Sizzix hourglass triangle die for quick and perfect piecing.  If you choose to make the hourglass block the traditional way, the finished block needs to measure 4 1/2″ square.  Each hourglass block should have 2 white triangles and then 2 patterned triangles.  You will need 25 hourglass blocks.

Mix up your fabrics to get a scrappy look!  I didn’t plan this out at all.

To make the flower blocks, iron a 4″ square of Heat n Bond Ultra to the back of each of the flower fabrics.
