Who doesn’t need a little “Hocus Pocus” sometimes?  As a Mom of a kid with Aspergers sometimes you get to see life through a different light.  Often it means looking and preparing for things that you otherwise wouldn’t even think of. Sometimes things you might think are going to be out-of-this-world amazing aren’t seen as amazing through their eyes.  But luckily there is a movement that involves something called the teal pumpkin. A teal pumpkin is a sign that a house will offer treats that are suitable for any trick-or-treaters who have any food allergies or intolerances. Sometimes when you go trick or treating, a house might only offer biscuits, cakes or treats made of ingredients to which you might be allergic, like nuts or milk.

Hocus Pocus Halloween Pumpkin

When Therm O Web and The Rabbit Hole Designs teamed up, I thought this would be the perfect project to do.  To start this project, I got a pumpkin that was already painted teal. This way all I had to do was decorate it.  I first placed a layer of gems on my pumpkin.

Next, using my die cutting machine, I used Brutus Monroe’s Fall Leaf Die and Deco Foil Flock Transfer Sheets -Tuscan Gold and White Latte”.  I repeated this stamp several times so that I would have several of the same leaves.

On the top of the pumpkin, I attached several flowers, leaves and metal pieces with the “iCraft Zots 3D and medium”.

On a piece of “Brutus Monroe Cardstock-Alabaster” I used my Misti, “Brutus Monroe’s Raven Detail Ink” to stamp “The Rabbit Hole Designs- Boo to You” stamp set.  Then I colored the Cat and the hat with watercolor pencils, “Brutus Monroe Aqua Pigments” and “Brutus Monroe Aqua Pigment Brush”. Then I fussy cut out the image and attached it with more “iCraft Zots”.

This will be a perfect piece for my Halloween table at our annual neighborhood parade and party.  Hopefully, it will make it more comfortable for some of our guests to know that we have included them without them needing to ask.
