Journeys, some are short and some are small.  Whenever I travel to my hometown it always seems like I am going a long journey.  You see my hometown is about an hour and a half away from where I am raising my family.  I always make sure I take a snack, a bottle of water, a couple of layers and a good book.  There have been times when I have traveled down that I have had to stay longer than expected but there is something that is just so peaceful about the journey.

Journey Around the World with Deco Foil

Deco Foil Metallix

First start I started with a globe chipboard shape and with covered the “Earth” shaped part of the globe with Metallic Aqua Pigment – Delphinium and let dry overnight.

Next using the I took some of the “Deco Foil Metallix Gel – Aged Copper” and applied it to the rest of the chipboard globe using the “Deco Foil Stencil Pal”.  This allowed me to get pretty even look and made the piece look like it was really made of metal. The Deco Foil Metallix, dries without needing heat is quite simply amazing!  I allowed this also to dry overnight. As the Metallix dries, it just keeps getting shinier and shinier.

Deco Foil

For North America and South America, I heated my Minc up and put a piece of the “Brutus Monroe Foil Sheet – Green Sketch ”.  On the internet I was able to find an outline of North America and South America, which I taped down to the foiled piece, then simply fussy cut out the shapes.

Using my original Misti, I stamped out using “Brutus Monroe Embossing Ink and Embossing Powder- Gilded” some of the flowers from the “Brutus Monroe Spring Wreath Stamp Set”.  After it had been heat set, I watercolored using the “Brutus Monroe Aqua Pigments: Pearl, Green, Metallic Lime and Metallic Sunflower” using a “Brutus Monroe Water Brush”. I added a little “Gina K Glitz Glitter Gel- White” to the center of the flowers.

Decorate the World

To finish putting all of the elements together was pretty simple. Apply iCraft Mixed Media Adhesive to the back of the North America and South America pieces and place down on the ‘Earth’ part of the globe.  Then with only three 3D Zots Adhesive Dots, I attached my flower piece to the bottom part of what looked like the stand of the globe.

Remember whenever you are on a journey, please remember to look around and simply enjoy the trip!
