The holidays are upon us, and like me, I’m sure many of you are looking for quick and easy  last minute holiday gift giving ideas. I know everyone loves sweets at the holidays. And what sweeter, and easier, last minute gift idea than a simple hot chocolate mix packaged with love?

Jar gift ideas are so fun and easy, and there are so many different things that you can fill them with. Think candy, coffee beans or tea, homemade baking mixes or spice blends, or cocoa mix, like I’ve used here. Or how about bath salts for a health and beauty gift, or flower seeds for your favorite gardener. So many great ideas, and better yet, you can often find inexpensive jars at your local dollar store, or even the Target $Spot. Then all you need is a bit of ribbon, and a festive tag. Super easy.

To begin, fill your jar with hot chocolate mix, and then add your favorite toppings to the top of the jar. I used white chocolate chips, and topped it all with crushed peppermint candy. Select a die to use for your tag, or choose a ready-made tag from your stash. And gather some nesting circle dies to use for accent pieces. You can see I selected a set that has a shape the perfect size for the lid.

Die cut a circle for the lid from candy-striped patterned paper. Die cut the tag and another layering circle shape from white cardstock.  Ink the edges of the tag shape with brown ink.

Using a flat (old junky) paintbrush, apply iCraft® Deco Foil™ Liquid Adhesive onto the top and edges of the tag.

*NOTE: Be sure to keep your brushstrokes all in the same direction. I paint from the top down to the bottom.TooltipText

Allow the adhesive to dry until it’s tacky to the touch, then press a piece of iCraft® Deco Foil™ Transfer Sheet down onto the tag (with the colored side up and the silver side down). Gently rub over the foil using the tip of your finger.

Peel up the foil to reveal the fun striated effect you get with the liquid adhesive. Stamp a sentiment onto the bottom of the plain cardstock circle and adhere it to the center of the tag using iCraft Double-Sided Foam Adhesive. Embellish with additional paper strips and stamped gingers.

Tie ribbon around the top of the jar and attach the tag. Now your gift is ready to give.

Enjoy!

Love the striated effect! That would be great with vintage things or even grunge! Cute project!
