Hi there, Jenifer here with you today to share a quilt that I have finally finished.  It is the North Star quilt that I made up using the beautiful Sparkle Collection from Windham Fabrics.  I have had this quilt pieced and sitting in my sewing room for months and I have had it on my needs to be finished list for a long time.  I finally got it finished and I am so glad that it is done.  It came out beautiful.

Paper Pieced North Star Quilt

Supplies for the North Star Quilt:

Windham Fabrics Mad for Plaid Flannel

Windham Fabrics Sparkle

North Star free Quilt Pattern

Therm O Web StitchNSew High Loft Fleece

The back was done in the incredible flannel, it is so soft and I can’t wait to snuggle up in it.  Since the backing was flannel I used ThermOWeb’s StitchNSew Fleece as my batting.  I find that it is a nice lightweight batting that works perfectly in a quilt like this. I had never done paper piecing before and I’m not sure what I was scared of.  It was pretty easy and it was amazing to get all of these nice perfect points.

This is what the quilt block looks like.  Not to difficult and the end results are beautiful.

I think one of my favorite parts of this quilt is the gold stripe binding.  It just brings it all together and using my new Oliso mini iron made this task of making binding fun and easy.

Remember this post from last year where I made this cute stuffed Santa?  This is the matching quilt.  I can’t wait to display them this year.  I hope you have a wonderful and safe Holiday season.
