Quilt Challenge for Cards with Gina K Designs

Therm-O-Web’s easy cut adhesive makes creating these quilt inspired cards super easy to create. I simply peeled off one side of the adhesive sheet and adhered it to the cardstock I wanted to create my quilt on.

I cut several 6×1 inch strips of paper. I also foiled the GINA K. DESIGNS FOIL-MATES™ BACKGROUNDS • STARS & STRIPES with GINA K. DESIGNS FANCY FOILS™ 6″ X 8″ • PASSIONATE PINK to add some shine into the design.

I chose a simple design for the fist card. I just laid the strips side by side on the card base I applied the ICRAFT EASY CUT ADHESIVE™ SHEETS • LG and cut away the excess.

For the second card, I chose to try a different pattern and repeated the same steps with the ICRAFT EASY CUT ADHESIVE™ SHEETS • LG. Then I used an Exacto knife to cut away the excess paper.

Then I turned the card base over to reveal my design. The ICRAFT EASY CUT ADHESIVE™ SHEETS • LG make this process so easy.

To finish off my cards, I chose a few sentiment dies and used the  ICRAFT EASY CUT ADHESIVE™ SHEETS • LG on the backside of the cardstock before I ran the dies thru my embossing machine so that I just had to peel the backing off of the sheet to stick them right onto my cards. This makes applying the die cut words quick and easy.

A quick tip: I also like to use a strip of vellum paper to wrap around the card base and then adhere the sentiment to it. I like the finished look of this technique on cards. It makes the sentiment stand out.

Finally, I cut another piece of cardstock with the adhesive sheet with this butterfly die and burnished the DECO FOIL™ TRANSFER SHEETS VALUE PACK • GOLD and adhered to my card base.I hope you’ll be inspired by today’s quilt image to create a couple of cards too!

quilting is one of my most favorite “sewing” things to do. to incorporate into card making is absolutely taking it to another level. thanks for sharing. this will be next on my agenda.

So amazing! I really thought it was fabric on the card. Thank you for the inspiration.
