There is nothing quite like resting your head on a sweet little pillowcase.  Maybe, it can even help you with a few “Sweet Dreams”.  Hi there, Amy of Sew Incredibly Crazy here to show you how easy it is to add little embellishments to your own pillowcases.

Here are the supplies needed:

Sweet Dreams Pattern (below)
Oliso Iron
Coordinating Aurifil thread
HeatnBond Soft Strech Lite Tape

Sweet Dreams Pillowcase Instructions:

To start, you begin with a basic pillowcase pattern.  I personally love the one by Missouri Star Quilt company, which you can find HERE.  This pillowcase was made by omitting the small decorative piece.  After assembling the pillowcase, up to the point of seaming up the sides to finish, this is the perfect time to embellish the pillowcase.

For the Ric Rac, cut a piece of HeatnBond Soft Stretch Lite Tape to the width of the pillowcase, approximately 42″.  Cut the tape in half long ways.  A rotary cutter works best for this. Iron it the Ric Rac. After this is completed, iron it between the seam between the cuff and the body of the pillowcase.

There will be no need to pin the Ric Rac in place while sewing it done.  Using a straight stitch.  Sew down the Ric Rac.

To further embellish the pillowcase,  trace the Sweet Dreams or another desired saying onto a piece of HeatnBond® Lite. The words need to be reversed.

Iron the words onto a piece of fabric.  With a sharp set of scissors, cut around the letters.  Iron it to the desired location on the pillow.

Stitch them down using coordinating thread.  Stitch up the sides and the bottom of the pillowcase and Enjoy some SWEET DREAMS.
