Hi, all! It has been SO important lately to show thanks to the people around us, whether we know them or not! My dad is an emergency room RN and I have been sending cards to the hospital where he works just to show my thanks for what they do. I made a glitzy card today with ThermOWeb goodies that’s easy to recreate so that I can make a bunch of them and send them off!

Show Thanks Nurse Card

Show Thanks Card Video Tutorial

I have been creating thank you cards like crazy lately! I don’t own a sewing machine, so I can’t help by making masks for those who need them, so I’ve just been thanking people who deserve it most. The mailman, grocery delivery personnel, etc.

Everyone who has had to suddenly step up and carry the weight of the world on their shoulders. Medical professionals hold a special place in my heart because my dad is an emergency room nurse. He has always been the most dependable person in my life. I love when we’re out and about and a person I’ve never met before comes up to him and thanks to them for saving them or their family. It makes me feel so proud! And he always remembers them, too!

So now it’s my turn to say thank you not only to him but to the rest of the staff at the hospital. They have always given me and my family fabulous care! I’ve been sending a card a couple of times a month to the hospitals in my area and this time I decided to add some texture with Glitz Glitter Gel and Neon Flock Transfer Sheets!

The best thing about this card is that it’s easy to recreate! You can make a bunch and send them out! I started by spraying the back of the Candy Cane stencil from Kindred Stamps with Pixie Spray. Just a quick once overspray is good! And then I pressed the stencil onto a piece of white cardstock. Before I started stenciling I flipped my panel over and pressed the card into the stencil from the back so that I could be sure the stencil was adhered.

This is a trick I like to use especially when I’m using detailed stencils or stencils with patterns that I really don’t want to shift like this perfectly striped stencil. I blended some pink ink over the stencil and then shifted the stencil up slightly to offset the pattern. I used a Stencil Pal and Gold Glitz Glitter Gel to add a second layer of stripes overlapping the pink ink blending.

Isn’t the Gold Glitz Glitter Gel overlapping the pink ink so pretty?! Take a look and see what you have in your stencil stash. Many stencils can be shifted slightly to give an offset look like this!

My image is from the Superhero Scrubs stamp set from Erin Lee Creative. I’ve been using it CONSTANTLY! And I love that it has both a male and female character! I’ve been using the male frequently, so I decided to switch things up and use the girl for this glam card. I stamped her and colored with Copics. I think I left almost all of the coloring in the video so you could see how I quickly colored her, but if you’d rather a photo of the markers I used is above. I don’t do much fancy blending. Just two markers for each color is usually my go-to!

I intended to put her directly onto the card, but I thought she needed a pop of something else. And you know I’m a sucker for more texture! I used a Stitched Star Die from Pink & Main and die cut a piece of Poppin’ Pink Neon Flock directly from the package. It die-cuts just like paper, but with more WOW factor! I stamped a sentiment and added all of the pieces to the card using Gina K Designs White Foam Squares and iCraft Ultra Bond Liquid Adhesive.

I love all the texture from the Gold Glitz Glitter Gel and Poppin’ Pink Flock! And if you’re a medical professional and you’re reading this I hope you know how thankful I am for everything you do!
