It’s been a fun week for us here on the Therm O Web blog, as we’ve partnered up with our friends at Art Impressions to bring you a week filled with projects and inspiration using Therm O Web adhesives and Art Impression’s newest line-up of spring stamps. However all good things must come to an end so designer Audrey Pettit is wrapping us this very fun week witht his adorable spring chickens card!
Today I’m playing with the adorable new Spring Chicken stamp set, and gorgeous papers from our friends at Photo Play Paper, on a pair of silly birthday cards, perfect for all those spring chickens in your life.

I did a bit of watercoloring on my images today using Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. If you’re going to watercolor, be sure to use a good waterproof ink and watercolor cardstock, like the supplies I listed above from Ranger. After coloring the images, I die cut them out using some stitched rectangle dies, and popped them onto my card bases using Therm O Web 3D Adhesive Squares for lots of depth and dimension.
I love the vintage look to these sweet papers, and tried to keep up that feel with a bit of shabby inking on all my paper edges. I always think a bit of brown ink adds a feeling of warmth and age to my projects.
On this card, I used foam squares between several of the layers to add lots of great visual depth. I did a bit of craft blade work around the hens feathers to lift her “fingers” up over the sticker. Looks like she’s really holding it, doesn’t she?
I thought the Vintagy & Fabulous sticker was such a perfect match for the puny sentiments in this stamp set, but since I ran out of room on the front of the card, it gave me the perfect excuse to finish it off on the inside!
I hope I’ve given you some fun birthday card ideas! Enjoy!
