HANDMADE HOLIDAYS hop - HORIZONTAL

Ornament 11

I hope this day is treating you well, Amy of Sew Incredibly Crazy here to share a little holiday joy.  With Halloween behind us, it is time to think of the festive and giving season ahead of us.  I always have a hard time of finding a gift to make that doesn’t take days or weeks to finish.  I always like to give a little handmade gift to my family and friends.  These ornaments do not require a lot of time to whip up and you can make several.  It is fast, fun, and no sew.

The supplies you will need:

Flower ornament 9

2 contrasting fabrics- you will only need 6 1/4″ x 20″

Felt – Cut it into a 3″ diameter circle

HeatnBond® Ultrahold

iCraft Deco Foil Hot Melt Adhesive

iCraft® DECO FOIL™

Beads for interior of the flower – I used a variety of sizes

Hot glue gun

Ribbon

IMG_0024

  Cut the HeatnBond® Ultrahold to 6 1/4″ x 17″

IMG_0025

Iron the HeatnBond® Ultrahold  to the wrong side of one of your fabrics.  Remove the paper backing and iron the HeatnBond® Ultrahold fabric piece to the wrong side of your other piece of fabric.  Trim the piece to 6″ x 17″.  Cut the piece in half.

IMG_0027

Iron a piece of  iCraft Deco Foil Hot Melt Adhesive  to the face of one of your fabrics.  Just do this to one of your pieces.

IMG_0028

Iron your choice of iCraft® DECO FOIL™.  There are several colors, so the possibilities with fabric are endless.

IMG_0029

Peel off your foil after it has cooled completely.  Cut your 6″ x 8 1/2″  into 2″ squares.

Ornament 14

Off to the craft table with your hot glue gun

IMG_0034

Add a bead of hot glue along the edge of one side of your square.

IMG_0035

Fold it over on itself to make a cone.  Make sure that you overlap your square the same way each time.  The seams will look a lot better if they are all fold over the same way.

IMG_0037

Make 12 Foiled cones and 12 unfoiled.   Cut your ribbon to your desired length.  Mine was 7″.

Ornament 13

Glue it to the felt circle.

Flower ornament 8

Put a fair amount of hot glue on half of your circle.

Flower ornament 6

Position your unfoiled cones on the felt.  Apply a little pressure to make sure that they are well adhered to the felt.

Flower ornament 7

Repeat on the opposite side of the circle.

Flower ornament 2

Apply a bead of glue along the side of the foiled cone.  I did it so that the seam would not be visible.

Flower ornament 5

Apply pressure onto the cones to make sure they are adhered.

IMG_0045

Add a large amount of hot glue in the center of your flower.  Add your beads to the center.

Flower ornament

All complete!!  You can use these as gifts, your own tree or you could use these are pretty gift tags on your presents.

I played with then and these are a couple of variation I made.   This one I laid the top layer of cones straight.

Flower ornament 0001

I used a little  Fabric Fuse Liquid Adhesive , pink glitter, and made this fun version.

Flower ornament 001

The last is my absolutely favorite.  A little iCraft® DECO FOIL™ Teal and some pinking shears and created this one.

Flower ornament 0

I hope you enjoyed a little blast of Holiday Cheer.
