Handmade Holidays 2014 Hop Logo
Welcome to the 4th Annual Handmade Holidays Blog Hop! A few years ago we were looking online for handmade gift ideas and thought it would be great if there was a resource dedicated JUST to handmade gift ideas. Enter the Handmade Holidays hop! We’ve gathered over 100 of our creative blogger friends in the craft industry as well as some of our fellow product manufacturers to bring you a plethora of inspiring gift ideas you can make now to give to your friends, family, and colleagues. Pin and bookmark these ideas for this holiday season and to use throughout the year! Each day of the hop features approximately 30 gift projects and you can “hop” from one blog to another to check them all out.

Hi this is Jenifer here with you today, I am so excited to be participating in the Handmade Holiday hop.  I loved making this Hedgehog book bag so I thought that a little mini version to hold a kindle would be fun.  My daughter will be receiving these for Christmas and I thought I would share how easy these are to make so you can get started on your Christmas gifts.
Hedgehog Kindle Sleeve: Designer Jenifer Cowles
Therm O Web supplies:
Jennifer Jangles Supplies Used:
A Walk in the Woods book
Other Supplies Used:
May Arts Ribbons
Embroidery floss
button
Directions:
Cut 2 each -6 1/2″ x 8 1/2″  for the outside fabric, lining and Fusible Fleece
Copy Mushrooms and Hedgehog at 50% and cut out as the book instructs
Adhere the HeatnBond® Fusible Fleece to the wrong side of the outer fabrics, using fusible fleece makes it so that you will not have to use any pins when you quilt this top layer.
On one end of the outside fabric adhere the hedgehog, grass and mushrooms using HeatNBond® feather lite.  Liquid Fabric Fuse™ helps keep the really small pieces such as the eye and nose in place.  Sew all the pieces down using your favorite stitch.  Go around all the pieces with embroidery floss to give it some fun and special touches (optional).
Sew the sides and bottom of the main fabric.  Sew the sides and bottom of lining making sure you leave a 2″ section not sewn for turning.
 Turn and press.
Pin a ribbon loop at the top so you have a way of closing your bag, you will stitch this down with the next step.
With right sides together and the 2 bags inside itself sew around the top.  Turn using the 2″ section at the bottom on the lining.  Sew the section closed.
Sew on a button.
Here is what the back looks like, how cute is that plaid.
I hope you have enjoyed your stop today in the Handmade Holiday Blog hop I’m sure you will be inspired.
